Winter days @ morning 6

Getting up at morning 5 AM is a real tough job I must say !!!....Since I was to go for an industrial tour I had to sacrifice my morning sleep and was supposed to be ready by 6 AM. Getting out of my door filled me with a ray of hope as there was a thick fog, so I thought of utilizing it by taking some snaps of nature’s beauty. Here are some clicks----

Convocation Carnival !!

A wave full of emotions and strong feeling seemed to have engulfed the campus and had energized its inhabitants…as we were welcoming with wide open hands our heroes….happy and familiar faces could be seen all around, as it was the time for 9th convocation in our institute…..there was a roar as “The Super-Finals“ were back in den…..it was so good to be the junior again….there was someone in the campus whom we can call “Baapu”….someone whom we can ask for treat….it seemed that all those small reasons of treat were lively again….

The warmth in their hug could be easily felt…the expressions were enough to say how badly they had missed the place and its inhabitants….It seemed, an era have elapsed since they graduated…there was so much to gossip about….the pleasure they were getting by calling their friends with their nick name could be felt… as now no one is Chotu, Seth, Gmat, CR, Kaka, Bihari, Colonel, Mamba, etc, etc.

The Convocation Day
All were dressed in proper attire wearing the convocation gown….proud parents of engineers could be seen..…the smile on their face was enough to tell the state of their mind and the pride they were feeling being present to witness their child getting degree…. Super-finals were congratulating each other on their success…all were delighted upon getting a degree and can now be called as certified engineers…. The Facebook page was filled with updates similar to…“Pappu pass ho gaya”…”lo ban gaya beta engineer”…..”Engineer Certified”…”Graduate”…among others….
Going down the memory lane….they shared the fun and frolic they had in past four years.…I was mesmerized to listen, how nicely they had remembered every small fun they had….tears could be observed rolling down the cheeks while they were narrating the story….disclosing small pranks….how they planned a mass bunk….how they patched someone’s love story.…how many crushes they had…and several similar stories….could be heard…and time just flew by….and nostalgia of leaving the campus for an eternity could be seen….
Some of the Facebook updates upon boarding their trains back were like-
“This is all that I have. Adios Rourkela”                     …….(Gora Sir)

“While one waited in the last row during the convocation...While one silently admires the gush of emotions flowing by... While one walks through these corridors and roads...While the motorbikes and auto-rickshaws screech through the streets of Rourkela...While the prime restaurants and bars are jam-packed...While one has a word for everyone around... I recall the last four years...each corner, location seems to fill me with memories I would love to live all over again... It is all slipping by never to return. Thank you everyone who has been a part of this endeavor. A smiling face counts more than those unspoken words for we will always be short of time catching up.” …(Abhineet Sir)

"bye bye NIT Rourkela. 3 dino me college life ji li....thanks to all my friends and juniors...will definitely miss u all...love u NIT RKL :)"    ---(Ashutosh Sir)

"A great person said dat 'its nt over untill its over!'.....so frnds its finaly n legaly over now n time to move on in lyf....if lady luck permits we may meet at sm oder get together event....till den all d best, gud bye...sayo nara....miss u frnds "                                   ....(Ashish Pandey Sir)
This year convocation was a bit more special for us as this was for our immediate seniors…those with whom we have spent three years of our hostel life…those whose suggestions we seek every time…those with whom there is a very strong bonding….those whom we call as Baapu (these are not just words.....we mean it).

Thanks for being there for us !!

Sadda Haq...aithe rakh !!

Disclaimer: The views are against government policies and should not be taken on personal ground.
Based on the reservation status in our country, I think one had done biggest mistake in life if he/she is born to a general caste family as all other people are secured under their respective quota (SC, ST, OBC, etc. just to name a few) but there is no one to look after the general caste people. Where is the quota for general caste people???? By this they have become the most neglected part of the society despite of the fact that they contribute maximum to the society, Aren’t they??? Politicians say that people falling in the backward or minority section are getting tough competition from the general caste people and so their interest should be safeguarded but they don’t give a heed to the fact that in order of safeguarding the interest of so called backward class or minority people they are actually exploiting the interest of general caste people as if they had committed some crime by taking birth in a family falling in general caste?? Wherever one goes from taking admission in good academic institution to getting a job in some good firms (be it a PSU or a private sector company), these quota system is omnipresent. A person securing badly throughout his career is sure of bagging a great job but a person having a fairly bright career is not, why… just because the former belongs to category?? They get jobs in some good PSU’s so easily which other people can’t even dream of just because they fall in general category. I don’t understand how government claims that they are safeguarding the interest of the people, aren’t they biased???

Though I am not a historian, but as far as I know upon independence the people falling in certain caste were called backward caste or minority as they were deprived off their basic facilities during British’s reign and they were not at par with other people, so brig them to the main line reservation was given to them for a period of 10 year so that they could also gain the same respect in the society as others do….but these politicians don’t dare to call it off just for the sake of their vote bank. Politicians, since then have use this as a method to increase their vote bank and as election approaches they plan to amuse the people (by fooling them) by taking them in confidence of giving kind of reservation or others, as they know very well that they have not done anything worthwhile during their tenure that people will reelect them. And once they get reelected, they again do nothing for the upliftment of that section of the society and would come again with same topic of reservation in their next election manifesto. By giving reservation they actually urge those people that they don’t need to try and work hard and compete with the people as they will be spoon-feeded every time by the government. I know persons not willing to learn things just because they are in category and hence are sure of getting admission in good colleges, getting good job in PSU’s despite being incompetent for the post.
I think in today’s scenario, sticking with the old definition of deprived section is not correct…. As now those many people who claim to fall in such categories enjoy the life in a better way than those in general category. In my opinion, now the definition of deprived class should be changed and rather should be defined on basis of people who lives in rural areas and are deprived of basic amenities (are poor). If government gives reservation to those students in rural areas who despite being extremely talented cannot compete with other people as they are not exposed to such facilities then it could have made some sense.
If the trends continue, the day is not far behind when people from general caste will have to come forward to safeguard their interest from the biased government.
